David Moyes biggest issue with signing a contract is reportedly nothing to do with the fans or the pressure he is under.

While West Ham’s 4-2 win over Brentford has done wonders to take some of the pressure off David Moyes in the short term, his future in East London is still anything but certain.

Despite him claiming that he has a contract on the table just waiting for his signature, our own ExWHUEmployee revealed that this is not quite the case and that his future will be decided at the end of the current campaign.

However, according to Football Insider, it is a real possibility that he refuses to sign a new deal due to his relationship with technical director Tim Steidten. It is believed that the two have never been on the same wavelength when it comes to transfers, and Moyes is unhappy at the prospect of working with him much longer. Things were only made worse by the fact that Steidten’s brother, Moritz, was appointed as head of international scouting.

Additionally, there is a possibility that the German’s role will be expanded and leave Moyes with absolutely no say over transfers, something he is understandably against.

Given that Steidten would play a huge role in selecting any potential replacement, it is hard to imagine that the two of them will fix their fragmented relationship. The rumours have also gone the other way, meaning that the board could be forced into choosing between the two – but which way would they lean?
