Tim Steidten has revealed that he feels at home at West Ham as well as making a shocking claim about David Moyes.
The impact that Tim Steidten has had on West Ham can not be understated. The work that David Moyes began to push the club onto a new level has been built upon by the German, and he’s only just getting started.
Despite what some have claimed, Steidten claims to be extremely happy in East London and feels like he is “in the right place.”
“I am euphoric at every game and every training session because I feel that I am in the right place, in the right league,” Steidten told NWZ Online. “I wanted to have overall responsibility [and] I wanted to take control myself. It was a stark change for all three (Himself, David Sullivan and David Moyes ).”
“A squad restructuring is always a four-to-five-year project. I was at Werder for 18 years and could probably have worked there longer.”
“But I also wanted to experience something different and never have to say to myself: I should have done that. But what I experience in England is particularly good for my development.”
What is particularly interesting is his comments on Moyes. He seems to confirm that there maybe was some hesitation on the Scotsman part about working with a Sporting Director, but they clearly have an excellent working relationship now.
“David Moyes – I think – noticed through my transfers that my work was important. Conversely, I learned an incredible amount from him when it comes to perspectives on football.”
Undoubtedly, Steidten will have a massive part to play in the near future of West Ham United. If Moyes does go at the end of the season, he will play a massive role in selecting his replacement but, aside from that, he will also have his proper Summer in charge of transfers as his powers are set to increase.
