Julen Lopetegui could bring a Sevilla star with him to West Ham following their repeated failure to sign him.

One undeniable positive David Moyes has had on West Ham is his lure. Anyone who’s played in England knows him and almost all of them seem to have the utmost respect for him. He’s attracted some big names to the London Stadium and it is something the club will certainly miss.

However, there is hope that Julen Lopetegui can have a similar effect when it comes to bringing in players from La Liga. The Hammers have had mixed results when bringing in players from Spain, with the likes of Pablo Fornals being cult heroes, while someone like Roberto couldn’t be further the other way.

As usual though, West Ham have been linked with someone they have been interested in for years, but this time something might actually come from it. En-Nesyri is someone the club have admired for a long time, unfortunately nothing ever came of it.

Unsurprisingly these rumours have emerged again, however, journalist Dean Jones believes that if a deal is ever going to happen it will be this Summer. “En-Nesyri has been linked with West Ham for years, quite literally,” he explained when speaking to GIVEMESPORT. “So if it does not finally happen this summer we can forget it as it probably makes more sense now than it ever has. Sevilla are opening up to the idea of selling him and Lopetegui has worked with him before and he would fit well with how the team is likely to set up going forward.”

“He is still on their list but it’ll depend on how Steidten sees the deal opening up as to whether this actually can happen this time.”

Obviously, bringing a striker has to be one of the recruitment team’s top priorities this season. While Lopetegui may be interested in bringing the Moroccan with him to East London, it is likely that Tim Steidten will have the final say and he could very well have a different vision for who wants leading the line.
