Fabrizio Romano has provided an extremely positive update on a West Ham star’s future.
With a new manager coming in and a massive rebuild needed, it’s vital that West Ham keep hold of their best players. Unfortunately, it seems likely that they will lose Lucas Paqueta who has been consistently linked with a move to Manchester City for the past year.
Losing him alone would be a massive issue for the Hammers, but if they were to lose him and another star then it could be absolutely disastrous.
Unsurprisingly though, Mohammed Kudus has already been gathering interest from the top clubs after his impressive Premier League debut season. The Ghanaian winger has accumulated 19 goal involvements across all competitions for the Hammers, and that’s not including what he did for Ajax or his national team.
Liverpool are reportedly weighing up a move if Mohammed Salah leaves this Summer and, to make matters worse, it has since been revealed that Kudus has a release clause in his contract. The exact details of this aren’t known, but it is believed it doesn’t come into effect until next Summer.
Thankfully, Fabrizio Romano has given a positive update on the situation. “I think it has to be a really crazy proposal because West Ham, at the moment, are not commenting about this release clause,” he told GIVEMSPORT.
“Sources guarantee that a release clause is included in his contract, but it is not guaranteed to start this summer. It’s still a tricky situation.”
There is no doubt that Kudus has been one of the most important players for West Ham this season, and he will be crucial to Julen Lopetegui next season. Unless they receive an offer around the £100 million mark, they really can’t afford to let go of him.
