Arsenal may have been handed a lifeline in the title race thanks to a West Ham star.

This season has seen one of the most competitive and interesting title races in recent memory. Up until very recently, any of Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool could have won the league. While the latter may have tried off in recent weeks, It has gone down to the last game to decide who will be champions of England and, strangely, it’s in West Ham’s hands.

Manchester City sit top of the Premier League by two points. Arsenal were relying on their London rivals to walk away from the Etihad with a result. While the majority of people, including West Ham fans, don’t have much hope of anything except a City win, Arsenal may have one hope: Lucas Paqueta.

The Brazilian has been a crucial player to the Hammers since joining two years ago. He is the one who played Bowen through in the dying minutes of the Europa conference league final, which is without a doubt the single most important pass a West Ham player has played in the last 40 years.

However, since last Summer, the midfielder has been consistently linked with a move to Pep Guardiola’s side. The only reason he didn’t secure a move to last season’s treble winners is due to the fact he got caught up in a betting scandal.

With it being expected that the citizens will come in for him once again in the upcoming transfer window, Paqueta will be looking to impress the home side, especially when you consider how poor he has been lately. If he doesn’t put in a good performance, there is every chance they may not sign him.

Everyone is aware of just how good he is. If he is at his absolute best, there is simply no way of controlling him. He strangely could single-handedly make Manchester City lose the title to Arsenal to secure a move there.
