West Ham could sign a former Premier League star for just £10 million as he looks to return to England.

While a surprising amount of iconic Premier League players have played for West Ham, the majority of them played for them at the end of their career. Pablo Zabaleta, Ian Wright and Patrice Evra are just a few examples of this, but it seems like the Hammers are still looking to implement this strategy despite their new recruitment set up.

Obviously, it’s something that’s worked fairly well for them in the past but it is a little surprising that Tim Steidten is still following this to an extent. However, while bringing in young players is important, having that experience is key to the success of any good team.

According to Fotospor, the Hammers could look to bring in that experience through Wilfred Zaha. The former Crystal Palace man has been playing in Turkey, where he’s managed 15 goal involvements in 42 appearances.

Despite still having 2 years remaining on his current contract, Galatasaray are reportedly willing to listen to offers for the Ivorian and will only demand £10 million for him.

Even though he is 31-years-old and certainly past his best, signing him for £10 million would be a no brainer. As a squad player, he would be a sensational addition for that amount of money. The only real concern would be his wage demands, which will presumably be extremely high due to what he earns in Turkey.

If our Irons can get past that, he can offer a lot on and off the pitch. He may not have had the most amazing numbers this past season, but if he can find similar form to what he had at Palace then he could be a bargain for that price.
