European giants are reportedly lining up a move for West Ham flop this Summer.

West Ham’s defence has been borderline abysmal this season. The Hammers conceded the most goals that they ever have in a Premier League season and the large majority of that is down to the central defenders.

While none of them have been particularly amazing, the most disappointing was certainly Nayef Aguerd. Initially, the Moroccan showed promising signs of being well worth the £30 million that they bought him for. Unfortunately, he was never able to cut out the mistakes from his game which makes him a liability. It’s really frustrating when you consider he has all the makings of a top, modern day centre-back.

However, despite his woeful performances in claret and blue, multiple teams in Europe have seen enough of his good qualities to make them think he can succeed outside of England.

According to The Sun, Atletico Madrid are leading the race to secure the Moroccan’s signature with them lining up a £20 million bid.

Considering, other reports state that both Rennes and Lyon are weighing up a move, our Irons could have a surprise bidding war on their hands for a player they would presumably be more than happy to part ways with.

If they can recoup the £30 million they paid for him, then that would be unbelievable business when you take into account how poor he has been. It would allow them to go and buy a quality replacement, potentially opening the door for Max Kilman to join the club.
