West Ham are reportedly keen on signing a Europa League hero to bolster their attack.

As West Ham learnt the hard way, there’s a reason Bayer Leverkusen have received so much praise this season. Domestically, they did not lose a single game all season. In Europe though, there was one man who managed to put a stop to their perfect season.

Ademola Lookman’s rise to being Atalanta’s hat-trick hero in the Europa League final is impressive to say the least. He’s gone from failing to panenka Fabianski to scoring three absolute screamers against the most in-form team in the world.

It’s not just the final that he’s impressed in though, in 31 Serie A appearances this past season  he’s scored 11 goals and assisted a further 7 – a great return.

According to Football Insider, West Ham could be lining up a move for the Nigerian international. The 26-year-old may take some convincing considering that Atalanta will be playing in the Champions League while the Hammers have no European football whatsoever.

Additionally, he is under contract with the Italian side until 2026 which means they will almost certainly slap a massive price tag on their star player.

If our Irons did pull it off though, he could be well worth whatever fee they pay. He’s developed a great deal since leaving England 2 years ago and it would be the perfect time to sign him as he begins to approach his prime.
