West Ham have revived their interest in a highly rated, young striker ahead of the transfer window.

As they have for a number of years now, West Ham desperately need to sign a striker this Summer. It can’t be anyone though, it has to be someone who truly suits Julen Lopetegui’s system and someone who can finally replace Michail Antonio. Unfortunately, that’s a lot easier said than done,

The Hammers have tried and failed to do just that multiple times now, but their efforts have been fruitless. With a new system in place though, now could be the perfect opportunity to do so.

Interestingly, their targets haven’t seemed to change much with them still being linked with the likes of Guirassy, En-Nesyri and, now, Elye Wahi.

Wahi is someone who the Hammers have admired for a while now and he has also made it clear he’d be open to a move to the London Stadium. L’Equipe reports that the Irons are once again preparing a move for the 21-year-old.

Across all competitions, the Frenchman has managed to score 12 goals for Lens and he’s assisted a further 4. It’s a good return for such a young player and it builds open the impressive form that he showed for Montpellier. In fact, despite his age, he is actually very experienced playing in the top tier of French football, having three full seasons under his belt.

Unfortunately, he wouldn’t come cheap considering he only joined Lens a year ago. Nonetheless, he is an exciting striker and signing him would be a great indication of what sort of player Tim Steidten is looking at bringing to West Ham.
