West Ham are becoming more optimistic that a deal for a new contract with Ben Johnson can be reached, it has been reported by ExWHUEmployee.

The club have held many rounds of talks with both Johnson and Divin Mubuma over extending their contracts in east London, although to date it’s been unsuccessful.

This has resulted in the anticipation that both players would be departing the club this summer, with Crystal Palace understood to be leading the chase for Johnson and Sunderland expected to move for Mubuma.

However, our club insider Ex has now advised that West Ham are becoming more hopeful that deals may be reached for both players, as talks continue over the coming days.

“The club appear more optimistic about Ben Johnson and Divin Mubama staying now then they have done in previous weeks,” stated the Podcast co-host on The West Ham Way Patreon.

“Talks will continue this week with Palace and Sunderland especially trying to persuade the respective players to sign for them.”

Ex will be keeping fans fully up to date on the situation as it develops.
