Fabricio Bruno gives insight as to why his move to West Ham fell through and hints on his future.

Journalists are finally starting to realise that nothing is a done deal at West Ham until there is physically no going back. On a number of occasions over the past few weeks, the Hammers have looked nailed on to sign multiple players but the majority have fallen through.

Some have been over transfer fees, some have been due to competition and, in the case of Fabricio Bruno, some just want more money.

As our own ExWHUEmployee exclusively revealed, Bruno’s demands suddenly went up and this prevented him from securing a move to East London despite his teammate claiming it was his “dream move”. Interestingly though, he has come out to give a little snippet of his side of the story.

“It’s an extremely private decision. There will be the right moment to talk about it. What I’d like to make clear is that I’m extremely happy here and I’m going to keep working for my club,” the defender claimed.

Obviously, this doesn’t reveal too much as to why he believes it didn’t go to plan but he obviously believes he is worth much more than he is. Interestingly, the last sentence suggests that he could be staying at Flamengo (although that’s anything but set in stone).

If money is what’s most important to him when it comes to playing in the Premier League then it’s probably for the best that the deal collapsed. We want players who are desperate to play for the badge, not ones desperate to get a payslip.
