Glasgow Rangers could look to sign West Ham star to replace a club legend if he leaves this Summer.

No matter what your opinion is on the quality of Scottish football, there is no doubt that Celtic and Rangers are two massive clubs with unbelievable fan bases. That alone can make them a tempting club to sign for, not to mention their near guaranteed European football every season.

Unfortunately for them, financially they can not compete with many clubs from Europe’s top 5 leagues and, as a result, it’s not often they keep hold of their star players for very long.

However, Rangers have managed to keep their captain James Tavernier for over 9 seasons despite him being one of the top players in the SPFL year after year. Now that he’s 32-years-old, this coming transfer window may be the last chance for the ‘Gers to cash in.

In order to replace the right-back, they will need to bring in a top quality player and, according to ibroxnews, Ben Johnson could be the perfect successor.

While our own ExWHUEmployee has revealed that talks are still ongoing about a potential new deal, the days are ticking away before he becomes available on a free transfer. Given that it would be on a free, it would represent amazing business for the Teddy Bears.

Much to their dismay though, there are a whole slew of clubs looking to secure the Englishman’s signature, the majority of them from the Premier League. Obviously they have European football, but aside from that it is gonna be extremely difficult to convince Johnson to join them over the likes of Crystal Palace, for example.
