Journalist claims that West Ham are already working on their second signing of the Summer.
Transfer windows are normally a time full of excitement, mystery and, if you’re a West Ham fan, a lot of frustration. The East London faithful are used to the Hammers being linked with everyone under the Sun just to do their business at the very last minute. However, this isn’t the same West Ham anymore.
To help Julen Lopetegui have the best chance at hitting the ground running, the recruitment team led by Tim Steidten are eager to get the majority of the signings done early. The Hammers have all but signed their first addition in Brazilian wonder-kid Luis Guilherme but, according to Alex Crook, the second could be coming through the door very soon.
“It is shaping up to be a busy summer at London Stadium as new manager Julen Lopetegui attempts to put his own stamp on the side,” Crook told talkSPORT. “The Hammers are in the final stages of completing a £30m deal for teenage Brazilian midfielder Luis Guilherme.”
“Sporting director Tim Steidten is also weighing up whether to pursue a move for Vitoria Guimaraes wide man Jota Silva. Portuguese international Silva also has interest from Roma but would prefer a switch to the Premier League.”
Silva is someone that our own ExWHUEmployee exclusively revealed West Ham’s interest in a while back and it will be interesting to see how fast things progress with him. If the club do decide to go in for him, he is said to have an incredibly low release clause making him excellent value for money.
