West Ham are said to be interested in bringing in Celtic defender Cameron Carter – Vickers this summer. As reported by HITC, the Celtic defender is a transfer target for West Ham this summer. Although the USA international still has five years left on his current contract, the report from HITC suggests that the Hammers are among a number of Premier League clubs interested in making a move for the defender this summer.
With David Moyes leaving the club at the end of the 23/24 season, new manager Julen Lopetegui is looking to rebuild the West Ham squad this summer and assemble a team capable of getting the club back into the European places.
Carter – Vickers initially signed for Celtic on loan in the summer of 2021. His loan move proved to be a real success and he joined Celtic on a permanent basis for around £6 million the following summer. The 26 year old is a key member of the Celtic squad having been appointed vice captain, the Scottish giants are understandably hopeful of keeping the defender at the club.
The report from HITC mentions both Fulham and newly promoted Ipswich Town also being interested in a summer move for the USA international. Given the fact the defender still has a long term deal in Glasgow and is very settled at the club, it is far from a given that he could be tempted by a potential Premier League move this summer.
In his time at Celtic, Carter – Vickers has made 115 appearances for the club scoring 6 goals and providing 2 assists. He has also won seven trophies with the Scottish giants including three league titles.
