West Ham are set to announce new deals for Academy players this week, it has been reported by ExWHUEmployee.
Our Podcast co-host and club insider provided the update on The West Ham Way Patreon, advising that a number of players are set to remain whilst new prospects are set to arrive in east London this summer.
“Luis Brown will continue the family tradition of playing for the club,” stated Ex. “His dad is academy manager Kenny Brown Jnr who played for the club from 1991 to 1996 famously scoring a winning goal to stop Manchester United winning the league.
“His dad is the legendary Ken Brown who is currently West Ham’s oldest living former player and played alongside Bobby Moore in defence from 1953-1967 and made one England appearance. Luis joins the club following his release from Arsenal.
“Tyron Akpata has signed a new deal with the club to extend his spell in the Claret and Blue. Akpata, a midfielder has been at the club since under 15s and is said to be a popular member of the dressing room.
“On Friday the club will also be announcing the signings of two under 18s players in: Majid Balogun from Manchester United and David Chigwada from Manchester City. Balogun is a talented forward of Nigerian descent.
“Balogun shone as Manchester United won the prestigious Albert Phelan Cup in 2022, scoring in the showpiece against Aston Villa.
“Chigwada is also a forward and will look to form an explosive partnership with Balogun. Chigwada, who joined City from Blackburn Rovers in 2022 is said to be a very tricky and entertaining player!
“These are transfers we have brought you exclusively for the last month or so and we are pleased they will be confirmed.”
