Despite three bids being accepted by other clubs, West Ham aren’t completely out of the race for a Championship star.

Very few players are going to be more sought after than Jaden Philogene this Summer, and for good reason! He enjoyed an immense season for Hull where managed to find the back of the net 12 times, as well as assisting his teammates on 6 occasions.

While his finishing and passing are both excellent for a player of his age, by far his biggest threat is his dribbling. When the ball is at his feet, it’s almost impossible to get it away from him and this causes him to get fouled an awful lot (64 times in 32 appearances).

West Ham have been keeping tabs on the 22-year-old for a while now but, due to prioritising other positions, they may miss out on his signature. According to HITC, Crystal Palace, Everton and Ipswich town have all had bids accepted for the winger, leaving him with an ultimatum.

Surprisingly though, it seems like the Hammers may not be completely out of the race yet. The report claims Philogene’s agent is keeping the East London side updated on the situation, suggesting that he may favour a move to the London Stadium over the previously mentioned clubs.

Not every player is able to make the step up from the Championship, but Philogene has the potential to be world-class. If our Irons do miss out on signing him, it could come back to haunt them. It’s easy to get overhyped about English youngsters, but he could be the real deal; he’s got all the makings of someone who’s going to go right to the very top.
