West Ham still hold a keen interest in Jean-Clair Todibo, it has been reported by ExWHUEmployee.

Last weekend the cub captured the £40m signing of Max Kilman from Wolves, with the former Maidenhead player considered the number 1 target for defenders this summer.

As was reported though that the club had been in discussions with French club Nice over the possible transfer of Todibo, however following the capture of Kilman maybe our interest in the French international would wane.

Reporting on The West Ham Way Patreon, our Podcast  co-host and club insider Ex has advised that this isn’t the case, and that West Ham are still keen on Todibo – however player sales will dictate whether we make another move to secure his services.

“The club still maintain an interest in Jean-Clair Todibo of Nice,” stated Ex. “This does depend on the future of Nayef Aguerd.

“Aguerd has been unhappy at the club for a while and we are prepared to cash in on him (or Zouma or both) should we get the right offer. We have already turned down an offer from France for him and we hope we will get others plus the financial clout of some Saudi teams.

“Should Aguerd go then we will move for Todibo, if he is still available. Of course, this is a risky strategy should they be signed by other clubs and some of our other targets in Greaves and O’Brien appear to be attracting offers from other clubs now whilst we wait for clubs to move for our players.”

Ex has also reported that Tim Steidten is in line to return to Brazil, with the main focus being to meet with Lucas Paqueta. However, while there he may look to resurrect talks with Wesley Gassova again as we look to push on with our summer rebuild.

“Wesley Gassova appears to still be on the radar,” added Ex. “He was the original target we looked at in Brazil when Tim first went over.

“Steidten may now look to speak with the player again to see if a deal can be reached, however the main purpose of any proposed trip there will be to meet with Paqueta.”
