West Ham are in talks to potentially sign France international N’Golo Kante, it has been reported by ExWHUEmployee.

The news of the talks broke last night by the Guardian, and our club insider has now confirmed on The West Ham Way Patreon that talks are going on, with further details of the situation set to be clarified later by Ex.

“A well placed source has informed me that these talks are in fact going on,” stated Ex on Patreon. “The former Chelsea player, who currently plays for Saudi Arabian club Al-Ittihad, is keen to return to Europe and play in a top league.

“Steidten was at the Euros looking for stand out players as we mentioned at the time and Kante proved that he is still in peak condition and could in fact play on for a few more years yet despite turning 34 this coming season.

“How likely this transfer is, we have put to more than one source as we remain skeptical over his wages and especially that his position hasn’t been identified as a key one recently. The plan was also to bring down the average age of the squad which of course this wouldn’t be doing. We would expect that other clubs would also be in the mix for the player too, so should we pull this off it would be quite a shock.

“This is a situation worth keeping your eye on and we will look to get further updates as the day goes on.”

Ex has added that no official bid at this stage, but talks however are taking place with representatives.
