European giants are ready to pounce as West Ham fail to sign a world-class midfielder.
West Ham have a few goals this transfer window, filling in the gaps in their squad, adding depth to it, and bringing the average down. Despite only fulfilling one of those criteria, it’s not a surprise in the slightest that fans got so excited over their club being linked with someone like N’golo Kante.
Although he is 33-years-old and playing in the Saudi Pro League, he proved that he is still just as brilliant as he was in his prime during the Euros.
Unfortunately, due to his age, Al-Ittihad’s desire to keep hold of the midfielder, his desire to stay at the club and, above all else, his £400,000-per-week wages, a move to East London is pretty much off the cards.
However, that doesn’t mean that he won’t return to Europe as, according to Spanish media outlet Sport, the Frenchman could be on his way to Barcelona.
While their financial problems are very well documented, they seem to still be able to sign whoever they please and it would not be a surprise if the Catalonian club did secure his signature. If the Irons do want to sign him, they will have to do so with haste but, for the reasons mentioned, it’s hard to imagine this happening.
