A domino effect could mean West Ham end up signing their top striker target.

Last Summer West Ham fans were left baffled by the fact they didn’t sign a striker. Gianluca Scamacca had left the club due to various reasons, but he had ultimately failed to impress, Michail Antonio’s fitness was only getting worse, and Danny Ings had frustrated everyone.

When January arrived, everyone seemed convinced that a No.9 would be signed, after all it was as clear as day that not having one was affecting their season. Nonetheless, none were signed but it seems like they want to finally put that right in the coming weeks.

Jhon Duran is believed to be the Hammers’ number 1 target now but due to a difference in valuations there hasn’t been any progress. Thankfully, according to Hammers News, the club could be given a golden opportunity to get the ball rolling.

Aston Villa are believed to be keen on bringing in Joao Felix but, due to PSR, they are struggling to do so. This means that they may be desperate to offload a fringe player like Duran, causing them to lower their asking price. When you pair this with the fact that the forward is said to be extremely interested in a move to East London, and that he will actually push for it, things look very positive indeed.

Hopefully, a deal can be reached sooner rather than later so that Lopetegui can properly integrate him into his setup.
