A new report explains that fans are furious with the new ticket pricing ahead of the new season.

When West Ham fans moved to the London Stadium from their beloved Upton Park, they were promised a couple of things. Firstly was that they’d be able to push on to a new level and, in fairness, they’ve done that over the past few seasons. However, arguably even more important was the guarantee of affordable family football and a report claims that fans feel like the club have abandoned that promise.

According to The Daily Mail, the East London Faithful are absolutely furious with the pricing of tickets for their home game against Manchester City. For the game, there are no concessions, so no matter whether you’re a child or you’re retired, you’ll have to pay the same price as everyone else.

Disappointingly, the cheapest tickets are a whopping £55, which means it would cost a family of 4 £220 to go to the match which, in today’s economy, is simply unaffordable for so many.

The report includes many social media posts from fans who label the move as “disgraceful” and claiming that the club have “no shame”.

Price increases are always going to be unpopular with the fans, especially after a rather disappointing campaign. While the increase of adult ticket prices are pretty in line with other clubs have done for this coming season, it’s the removal of concessions that has really driven up the price, the report suggests.

With petitions, boycotting of the preseason Betway Cup tie against Celta Vigo, as well as general fan discontent, it will be interesting to see how, or if, the higher ups respond to this at all.
