West Ham are closing in on a deal for Bayern Munich defender Noussair Mazraoui, it has been reported by ExWHUEmployee.

As has been reported throughout the summer transfer window, the club had made bringing in a new right-back a priority, following the release of Ben Johnson who went on to sign for Ipswich Town.

It was understood that the main targets were Kyle Walker Peters of Southampton and Aaron Wan-Bissaka of Manchester United, with talks with both clubs taking place for a number of weeks but with little progress made.

West Ham have since turned their attention to Moroccan international Mazraoui, who was regarded as a key target for Manchester United this summer, and now our club insider is reporting that a deal for the player is now edging close to agreement.

“The club had been trying to get a deal done for both Wan-Bisakka and Walker-Peters but both their parent clubs have not budged much on the valuation and Wan Bisakka’s wages are also thought to be a bit of an issue,” stated Ex on The West Ham Way Patreon.

“Further talks will continue today but the club are positive that they can agree a deal with the German giants. The fee is expected to be around €15m, with the structure of the deal now left to agree.”

Our insider has stressed that the terms of the deal are still to be agreed but the fee has been reached between both club.

Ex will keep fans up to date on the situation as it progresses.
