West Ham United have contacted Leeds United over the potential signing of Crysensio Summerville, according to a report from GiveMeSport.
Fabrizio Romano reported that the East Londoners were interested in a move for the Dutchman earlier this week, the Italian has now told GiveMeSport that contact has been made over the signing. However, Leeds United’s demands may still put off the Hammers.
Romano said: “The interest is still there in Summerville. It’s an expensive package, so I’m not sure West Ham will be able to make it happen, but the interest is genuine. They had contacts on the player’s side and contacts on the club side after speaking to Leeds last week. He is one of the players they have on their shortlist.”
The flying winger had a brilliant season last term contributing to 31 goals in 49 appearances across all competitions and winning the Championship Player of the Season award. This has earned plenty of suitors from the Premier League and in Europe.
These potential suitors include Crystal Palace, Newcastle, and GMS sources have also recently revealed Fulham’s interest in the attacker. AS Roma were also said to be interested, however, they opted for a move for Juventus’ Matias Soule instead. This probably puts the Hammers in the strongest position with the most funds available this summer, however, they won’t be able to get near Leeds’ reported valuation of £35-40m,
