Jhon Duran is set to be investigated by his own club Aston Villa after making the crossed hammers gesture during an Instagram live stream, according to a report from Birmingham Live. 

The Colombian striker has been heavily linked to a move to West Ham United this summer and is the club’s top striker target. Despite the two clubs holding talks for a matter of weeks now, they cannot come to an agreement over the transfer. The Irons have reportedly had up to three offers rejected for the 20-year-old.

The Copa America finalist has reportedly already agreed personal terms on a five-year deal with the Hammers, and is very keen on switching the claret and blue of Aston for the claret and blue of East London. This was portrayed in a recent Instagram live on Jhon Duran’s personal page just two days ago.

The Aston Villa fans who have grown frustrated with Jhon Duran’s attitude during his time at the club see this as the final straw. Duran will likely face disciplinary action pending the outcome of the investigation with the gesture deemed to be disrespectful to the club and its fanbase.

This gesture is something that has made Hammers fans very excited, and have likened his attitude to former fan favourite Marko Arnautovic, However, since making the gesture, West Ham haven’t made any progress and the club have started to look at other targets.
