West Ham United have been told by Southampton that a £20m bid would be accepted for Kyle Walker-Peters, according to a report from Football Insider.
West Ham are very keen to bring a right-back to the club this summer. Talks have been underway with Southampton for a few weeks but have been unable to agree on a fee, the club were also in talks with Wan-Bissaka but have had the same problem. The club thought they found their man in Noussair Mazraoui, however, despite having a bit accepted, the deal fell through.
Mazraoui now looks set for a move to Manchester United this summer, therefore Aaron Wan-Bissaka has become available. Before looking likely to sign the Moroccan, United were looking for upwards of 20m for their full-back. However, the Red Devils have reportedly dropped their demands to between £10-15m. This has made the Hammers want to focus on a move for the former Crystal Palace star.
However, despite the reduction in the transfer fee. Wages could still be an issue, the full-back is currently on over £100,000 a week. While Kyle Walker-Peters is reportedly on less than half of that at around £36,000 a week. This could make the total package for Walker-Peters much cheaper.
The 27-year-old is believed to be keen to join the Irons this summer as he heads into the final year of his Saints contract, but a move still remains unlikely to happen.
