Aaron Cresswell has stated that he and his West Ham teammates are loving life under new Head Coach Julen Lopetegui.

The left-back, who is now entering his tenth year as a Hammer, was part of the side in Florida that fell to defeat in our pre-season game against Wolves.

It’s reported to be a no-nonsense approach to getting the players in the right condition ahead of the new season, with Cresswell admitting it differs from the previous regime – and the players are responding well to it.

“It’s been tough and it’s been different,” Cresswell told the club Official Website. “It’s been really intense, but the boys are loving it.

“There have been some tough moments with a lot of double sessions, but that’s what we needed and that’s what we want, and it’s all about being ready for Aston Villa in the first game of the season, and it’s not too far away.”

Our Hammers lost 3-1 to Wolves in Florida on Saturday night, although the focus from West Ham is very much fitness – although it it was close to being called off due to adverse weather in the States.

“It was a ‘Code Blue’ with the lightning, which meant we had to stay under cover, but we had plenty of time to warm up behind the scenes and it was good to get 45 minutes in the tank,” added Cresswell.
