West Ham signing Fullkrug wouldn’t mean that Jhon Duran won’t also be signed.

So far, it’s been a rollercoaster of a window for West Ham, but the lack of movement in recent weeks meant fans started to grow concerned. However, today’s news has been nothing but positive.

It’s been reported that the Hammers are getting closer to agreeing a deal to sign Niclas Fullkrug. The German has a sensational season for Borussia Dortmund, scoring 15 goals and assisting a further 11.

However, many have been left worried about his age. At 31-years-old, the club will get a few years out of him at best – hardly a longterm solution to their striker woes, especially when compared to someone like Jhon Duran.

While many believe that the Irons will only sign one of the two, Football Insider reports that both could end up joining the ranks. It would be great to have someone like the German for Duran to learn from as he develops into a Premier League striker.

Unfortunately, although it would be brilliant, it is hard to imagine this happening. Firstly the finances involved in both deals would make it incredibly difficult. West Ham have already refused to meet Villa’s demands, why would they then go and splash out on two forwards when they already have Antonio and Ings as back up. Secondly, would either of them really leave their current clubs just to be a backup at the London Stadium? It’s extremely unlikely.
