Former Aston Villa striker and talkSPORT pundit Gabby Agbonlahor has said that Villa ‘weren’t happy’ with Jhon Duran’s antics as he tries to push for a move to the West Ham from Villa Park this summer.
The Colombian striker has been liked to a move to the London Stadium for weeks now, and is Julen Lopetegui’s first choice signing for the position. It is public knowledge that Duran wants the move to East London, he made sure of that when he did the crossed hammers gesture on Instagram live in front of 1,000 people and thousands more have seen it since.
When asked about the situation on talkSPORT yesterday evening, Agbonlahor said: “I heard Aston Villa weren’t happy”. The Villians will likely investigate the Colombian forwards antics, which could lead to disciplinary action. However, if Duran gets his way, he will be a West Ham United player and avoid such punishment.
This is looking more and more unlikely, however. West Ham United are refusing to up their current offer, making it impossible for a deal to happen. The Hammers have now switched their attentions to Borussia Dortmund striker Niclas Fullkrug. Sky Sports have reported that West Ham are advancing in talks for the German international with some work still to do on the structure of the fee and elements of personal terms. He is expected to cost around £20m which is more than half of what Villa are demanding for Duran.
It is very unlikely that West Ham would sign Duran and Fullkrug. especially with Crysensio Summerville also on his way to the club too, but never say never.
