West Ham are growing more and more frustrated over a deal for Nice defender Jean-Clair Toidbo, with the Frenchman still holding out for a switch to Juventus this summer, according to a report from Caught Offside

Fabrizio Romano provided his followers with an update on the situation. The Italian transfer guru told Caught Offside: “Juventus remain in negotiations for Jean-Clair Todibo and he wants Juventus as a priority. Talks are ongoing, lets see what happens with the Bianconeri.

“There have been rumours that West Ham could be back in the race, but they could only be an option if the deal with Juve collapses and that’s not the case now. Juve are still on it, price is around €40m.”

The situation remains the same as before, the Hammers have had a bid accepted but are being left waiting due to his preference of a switch to Juventus. He is seen as a major target for West Ham, so they are happy to wait as they are still yet to move on either Kurt Zouma or Nayef Aguerd.

Everyone knows how keen Julen Lopetegui is to bring in Todibo, he is seen as the last jewel in the crown to complete the Hammers defence. With Emerson at the club already, Max Kilman signing from Wolves last month and Aaron Wan-Bissaka closing in on a move to East London. Todibo would complete the defensive rebuild ahead of the 24/25 Premier League campaign.
