West Ham are “getting closer” to agreeing a deal for Aaron Wan-Bissaka, but there could be one major hurdle.
As predicted, the Aaron Wan-Bissaka one has been an interesting one to watch unravel. West Ham initially failed to convince the Englishman to join, and they were also unwilling to meet Manchester United’s demands. However, both side’s interest in Mazraoui has led to the Red Devils to lower their demands for Wan-Bissaka.
Thankfully, talks have progressed positively recently, and it would be a surprise to see a deal get over the line, but it’s far from complete, friend of The West Ham Way Dharmesh Sheth has revealed. “This one’s getting closer,” he told GIVEMESPORT. “We think that, rather like the Fullkrug deal, there are a lot of elements of that deal that have been agreed between Manchester United and West Ham.
“There’s still work to do on the fee and the structure of the payments. We do know that Manchester United’s asking price was £15m-plus.”
On top of not reaching an agreement with United, the report also claims that there could be some difficulty in agreeing personal terms with the player. Although he is much more open to the move than he was a couple of weeks ago, he is still on over £90,000-per-week and wages have consistently been a sticking point for the Hammers.
Hopefully, everything can get sorted as the Irons would be getting one of the best defensive full-backs in the Premier League for a bargain price. While he’d be just one piece of the puzzle, it’s the type of signing that is a step towards the club going to the next level.
