West Ham have made an enquiry about an exciting young defender, but signing him doesn’t seem worth the effort.
Unlike at a club like West Ham where almost every player has a price tag, if one of the ‘big’ sides don’t want to sell a player, there’s little to no financial pressure for them to do so.
Unfortunately, West Ham have been caught out by the issue many times where a club will just not sell their player for a reasonable fee, even if they’re not a regular starter.
So far, it’s not been too much of an issue this window as it seems they’re getting a lot of their top targets. However, according to FC Inter News, they will not get Yann Bisseck.
The German defender has enjoyed a great first season in Milan, becoming a more regular starter towards the end of the Serie A season. Inter signed him for just £6 million a year ago and his value has since tripled. However, even at £21 million, the report claims that the Italian side will not sell the 23-year-old.
Obviously, it’s important our Irons sign the right partner for Max Kilman, but if they don’t want to sell then they can charge whatever they want. As usual, the club will only sign the players they see as the best value for money so it’s hard to imagine missing out on him will be too much of a let down for them as they will just go for one of their other targets.
Although it’s becoming increasingly obvious in preseason that another defender needs to be a top priority, the worst thing they could do is panic buy someone.
