Manchester United have placed an £18m price tag on West Ham target Aaron Wan-Bissaka’s head, according to a report from the Daily Mail.
West Ham have been in talks with Manchester United over the signing of the full-back for a number of weeks, but have struggled to agree on a fee. With his contract expiring and Manchester United needing to sell to make a move for Noussair Mazraoui, the Hammers don’t want to over pay for the Englishman.
Wan-Bissaka became the clubs top target in the position after refusing to match Southampton’s valuation of Kyle Walker-Peters and refusing to accept the demands of Mazraoui’s agents. The Hammers are reportedly only willing to pay £15m for the defender, so Manchester United may need to compromise if they want his replacement in before the start of the Premier League campaign.
It still remains very likely that Tim Steidten will get this deal dome, however, it remains unclear which team will give in first. After spending over £45m on three players in the last couple of days, the Hammers will hope that it is United to give in and accept what they are offering.
If a deal can’t be done it would be unclear who the club would go after. It would be an astonishing turn of events is Mazraoui ended up at West Ham with AWB staying at Manchester United.
Despite not being a stereotypical Lopetegui full-back, the Spaniard is very keen to bring him to the London Stadium, and the Hammers have been very ruthless in the market so far this window so there is still an expectation this deal will be concluded and Wan-Bissaka will lineup in Claret and Blue next season.
