West Ham have withdrawn their interest in a long-term target, giving another team a golden opportunity to sign him.
Although the transfer seemingly came out of nowhere, West Ham fans have been delighted with the signing of Guido Rodriguez. The World Cup winner has become one of La Liga’s best holding midfielders over the past few seasons, possessing not only sensational defensive abilities but some incredible passing too.
Signing him for free is undoubtedly a massive coup for the East London side, especially when you consider how desperate Barcelona wanted him. However, there’s no denying that he wasn’t many fans’ first choice, that accolade would go to Youssof Fofana.
While it’s great signing Rodriguez, according to Football Italia, it means that they won’t be going in for the Frenchman. He’s someone they’ve held interest in since last Summer and missing out on him means missing out on one of Steidten’s biggest targets.
What it does mean is that AC Milan now have a bigger chance of signing him. It’s believed they will not go above €20 million for him and, with no competition, they may very well get him for that steal of a price.
