West Ham have completed the signing of Argentina international Guido Rodriguez.

The midfielder, who had been heavily linked with a move to Spanish giants Barcelona for much of the summer, has put pen to paper on a xx year deal.

In what is again seen as a coup for the club this transfer window, Rodriguez joins Niclas Fullkrug and Crysencio Summerville who both recently joined the Julen Lopetegui era in east London.

Speaking to the clubs Official Website surrounding the move, the combative midfielder, who partnered Edson Alvarez previously, expressed his delight in making to the move to West Ham ahead of what is hoped will be an exciting and successful time for the club.

“I was very excited when I heard that West Ham were interested in me,” said the Argentine midfielder.

“It’s a historic Club, that has a really interesting project. I think it’s the right Club for me, at the right time, and I hope together we can keep growing. I spoke to Edson [Álvarez] before signing, and we’re both really looking forward to working together again.

“I will help the team in any way I can. I will bring experience to the team, and though I’m aware the Premier League is very physical, I’m ready to put the work in to make sure I’m up to the task.”

Its understood West Ham are now to continue to work on further additions this summer, with the pursuit of Aaron Wan-Bissaka of Manchester United hopefully yielding a positive conclusion soon.
