A Ligue 1 centre-back is “waiting” for a move to West Ham over Italy.
The past couple of weeks have turnt this transfer window from a decent one into one of the best in West Ham’s history. Kilman, Summerville, Fullkrug and Rodriguez are all sensational additions, and things only look like they’re going to get better.
Given that Kurt Zouma is closing in on a move away from the club, the Hammers need to bring in another centre-back. With it now looking like the club have managed to hijack Juventus’ move for Jean-Clair Todibo. If the deal does go through, he’ll be joining on a season long loan with an option/obligation to buy at the end of next season.
However, he may not be the only Ligue 1 defender the East London side manage to steal from under the noses of an Italian side as Logan Costa is said to be holding out for a move to the Irons despite interest from Bologna, TuttoBolognaWeb reports.
The Cape Verde defender has gone from strength to strength over the past couple of campaigns and his potential is unbelievable. Shockingly, Toulouse only want around £13 million for his signature, which could be within the Hammers budget even after Todibo and a right-back.
Unfortunately, he’s had some issues surrounding an anti-homophobia campaign, which he refused to take part in. Obviously diversity is a massive part of what makes West Ham such a great job and signing someone who doesn’t support the idea that people shouldn’t be marginalised for their sexuality is not someone we want at the club. It’ll be an interesting one to keep an eye on as the window starts to draw to a close.
