Former West Ham and England manager Sam Allerdyce has urged a Premier League star to join the Hammers.

For many reasons, Sam Allerdyce is an extremely controversial man amongst West Ham fans. His style of play, his digs towards the fans and his overall bitterness for the club have made him somewhat unpopular, not dissimilar to David Moyes.

However, whether you agree with his methods or not, there can be no denying that he knows his football. It may not have been pretty to watch, but he got results.

Despite it coming across like he doesn’t care for the Hammers, he’s actually come out and urged an England star to move to East London over the likes of Manchester City.

Ivan Toney may not have had many minutes at the Euros, but he did have a massive impact. What he offers on the pitch is not something many else can, and his goal scoring record speaks for itself.

Although he was linked with a big move away, nothing has materialised as of late and, considering that Tottenham have signed Solanke, it seems like his only hope might be West Ham.

“I just don’t think so. I am just not sure,” Allerdyce said in response to being asked if Toney could move to City. “Would Ivan Toney want to move to Man City to be not the number one? What is he? 28? If he’s moving now, you have got to move to be number one. It’s better if West Ham bought him.”

As a player, he’d be a great option to have and him and Fullkrug would thrive with the creative outlets the club has. However, are the club really in a position where they can spend another £50 million on a striker? Probably not. This coupled with his massive attitude problems do make it seem unlikely, but you can never say never.
