Fabrizio Romano has denied West Ham’s reported interest in signing an English striker.

Some players West Ham have been linked with this Summer are not the sort of players you’d expect Tim Steidten to be chasing. Maybe they’re just people who have came up in discussions and are on the club’s lists from before, or maybe some journalists haven’t gotten used to the fact that the way the club will be doing their business has changed.

Either way, Tammy Abraham is someone the Hammers have been linked with throughout the Summer, with some sites even claiming that Roma are “waiting” on them to make their move.

However, Fabrizio Romano has since stated that he is not aware of any interest from the East London side and he believes it will be incredibly difficult for the Italian side to offload the forward. “Tammy Abraham – Despite reports, I’m not aware of anything imminent now for Abraham. I don’t have confirmation on West Ham, for Saudi there are different movements now so it’s not something close or concrete,” he told Caught Offside.

“Abraham has been high on Milan’s list for weeks but they’ve many players and they decided to invest on different positions.”

Unsurprisingly, both his injury and fairly average goal scoring record has put a lot of clubs off the idea of securing his signature. It’s a shame because he was one an incredible prospect, but he’s never managed to reach his potential. There’s certainly a good player in there, but it’s probably not the type of risk the Hammers will want to take at this stage.
