West Ham could be part of a domino effect which ends up with them signing their biggest Summer target.

If you were to sum up the manner in which West Ham were defeated by Aston Villa in one word it would have to be poetic. The club spent the whole Summer chasing Jhon Duran, the player was desperate for the move, but it never happened, so of course when he came on as a substitute it was going to be him who scored the winner.

Most fans had expected that would be the end to this nightmarish story, but it doesn’t seem to be quite over yet. Reports continue to link the Hammers with a move for the Colombian and now Aston Villa may be dropping a massive hint about the player’s future.

According to reports in Spain, the Villains are looking to sign Samu Omorodion before the window closes. The once West Ham striker target is one of the biggest prospects in Europe at the moment but his signing surely limits Duran’s playing time even further. Very few strikers get minutes ahead of Ollie Watkins and Unai Emery signing another young striker surely suggests that it could be the end of Duran’s time at Villa Park.

If that is the case, the Hammers could end up signing the man that’s caused them so many problems this Summer. From throwing up the Irons to signalling he was staying at the Midlands club after scoring at the London Stadium, him signing for the East London side is the ending this story deserves.
