One of the Premier League’s best defenders has named a West Ham star as the player he’s struggled the most to play against.

Considering that he was playing for one of the biggest clubs in Europe, it’s unbelievable that West Ham managed to sign Mohammed Kudus almost unchallenged. He’s easily one of the biggest talents in the Premier League and you can only imagine that he will get better now he’s got a full season of English football under his belt.

By far the Ghanaian’s biggest strength is his dribbling. He’s incredibly tricky with his feet, he’s strong on the ball, and he’s full of flair which makes it nearly impossible to defend against him.

Even someone like Manchester City’s Gvardiol admits that he struggled against him more than anyone else last season. “If we talk about a player [that I struggled with] then I would like to say that last season it was Kudus from West Ham.”

“I remember for the first game he was on the bench, so he came on for the last 15/20 minutes and he was playing on my side and I was already like ‘ah, he’s quite good, he looks sharp, and he’s good on the ball.’ And then I remember the second game, at the end of the season and yeh! He even scored the bicycle kick.”

“He was the one who I struggled to play against the most. I think he’s the one who deserves more attention and I believe this season he’s going to come out and show his quality.”

Praise like this from a defender of Gvardiol’s quality really puts into perspective how good Kudus is. Not only is he picking him out as the hardest he’s played against in the Premier League, but the Champions League as well.

Despite winning the game 3-1, it was clear that the Citizen struggled once again at containing Kudus during their game last weekend.

Our Irons managed to keep hold of Kudus this Summer, which is a massive boost to their chances of securing European football. Who knows, depending on where they finish they may even be able to keep the winger past this season too.
