West Ham are said to be keen on signing a Bundesliga striker who has 4 goal involvements in 3 games this season.
It’s starting to feel like West Ham are a bit cursed when it comes to signing strikers. Since Arnautovic, every single forward they’ve signed has been a massive let down.
Although it’s very early on, too early to judge, it’s not a secret that Niclas Fullkrug hasn’t exactly hit the ground running. Some fans felt like they needed to sign a younger No.9 with a different profile, and they may have been right.
As a result, the club are already looking at potential additions to make in that position over the coming windows, with some potential suitors apparently already being lined up.
According to TEAMtalk, the Hammers have entered the race for Frankfurt’s Omar Marmoush. While the 25-year-old’s record wasn’t great before joining the German side last season, he managed to contribute to 18 Bundesliga goals during the last campaign, with 3 goals and 1 assist in his first 3 games this season.
Unfortunately, there could be a couple of hurdles in the Irons’ pursuit of the Egyptian. Firstly, there is set to be tough competition for Liverpool, Arsenal, and Crystal Palace, with the first two obviously being more enticing to a player. Secondly, his club are set to demand a staggering £40 million for his services – something the club are highly unlikely to pay in January given how much they’ve spent in the Summer.
If he can continue his impressive form then he’d be a great signing for our Irons, but that’s a big if. Even then, it would be a tricky deal to get done and the club may choose to look at other options instead.
