The West Ham Way are devastated by the news that young Elliott Eley has sadly passed away.
The young Hammers fan, who was mascot for the opening day fixture against Aston Villa at the London Stadium, had suffered from a rare genetic disease shortly after he was born.
Elliott was diagnosed with liver failure and required multi-organ transplant, with the hope it would allow him at best have have five years to live, however the heartbreaking news came this week that the 11 year old Hammer had died.
The club put in a place a special day for Elliott before he passed to meet the Head Coach and players at Rush Green, where it was clear what a lovely boy Elliot was and the love and passion he had for West Ham.
The news of his passing is one that breaks the hearts of all connected with the club and serves as a reminder of the important things in life.
All of us at The West Ham Way send our love and prayers to the family and those knew Elliott. May he rest in peace.
