West Ham reject reveals his “non-existent” relationship with David Moyes.
You don’t win a European trophy without doing a lot right, especially with a club like West Ham. With that being said, David Moyes also did a lot wrong during his time as the Hammers’ boss.
Obviously his style of play was controversial but, for the majority of his tenure, it was effective, while his in game management was largely poor.
One thing that he did have going for him though was a particularly good relationship with his players. Lucas Paqueta, Jarrod Bowen, and Tomas Soucek have all been very vocal about how much they admire the Scotsman, but it seems like he wasn’t the same with everyone.
When Alex Kral signed on loan for West Ham, there was some genuine excitement about the midfielder. They’d already seen immense success when signing Soucek and Coufal from the Czech league, and fans hoped he’d have a similar impact.
Unfortunately, Kral was hardly ever used by David Moyes, but it seems like it wasn’t just on the pitch that the gaffer gave him the cold shoulder. “My relationship with David Moyes was non-existent,” the Czech Republic international revealed.
“I never got an explanation from the coach. I can’t say we had a bad relationship, it was simply non-existent, we hardly spoke!”
“When I asked him what was wrong, he said nothing was wrong. I was waiting for an opportunity that never came, but these things happen in football.”
Although this is only one person’s perspective, there is no reason for Kral to lie about any of this. Despite clearly having a tough time under Moyes, he doesn’t result in insults or anything hurtful, he actually remains extremely respectful. This sort of behaviour is strange, unnecessary, and absolutely disrespectful to the player. Whatever the reason behind it was, there’s absolutely no excuse for Moyes to have acted that way.
