West Ham’s U21 side will be hoping to continue their perfect start to the season as they travel to the North East to take on Newcastle United.
The U21’s have started their PL2 season with three wins on the bounce, those wins have come against Brighton, Southampton and Norwich. Having made such a positive start to the campaign, the Hammers will be hoping to keep the pace with joint league leaders Arsenal.
Mark Robson’s side fell to a narrow 1-0 defeat earlier in the week against Newport County in the Bristol Street Motors Trophy. Unfortunately for the young Hammers this has very much damaged their chances of progressing from their group.
Despite the loss earlier this week, the U21’s have made an excellent start to their league campaign and will have plenty of positives to take going into tonight’s game against Newcastle.
From Newcastle’s point of view, it has been an up and down start to their league season with a loss, a draw and a win from their opening three PL2 games. They could well have had more points on the board from their opening three matches, the young Toon were unlucky not to get the win against Sunderland on the opening day of the season, before registering their first points of the campaign against Spurs.
A 1-0 defeat against Derby in the league last time out will certainly mean that Jack Ross’ side will be hoping to get back to winning ways. Newcastle will be hoping for a better campaign this year after finishing 22nd in the league last season.
In what will be far from an easy tie for the young Hammers, supporters who want to tune in will be able to watch a live stream of the match via the Club’s website, TikTok page or YouTube channel.
