West Ham are hopeful of a huge injury return ahead of our clash with Brentford later today.

Our Hammers head to the west end of London to take on the Bee’s in a game for which the pressure is mounting on the side to produce a far improved display from the one that was witnessed in the previous Premier League encounter against Chelsea.

Julen Lopetegui‘s side fell to a 3-0 home defeat last weekend, in what was an alarming performance and has left many demanding a fast improvement as the stuttering start to the season continues.

The trip to Brentford today however follows a better and spirited display against Liverpool in the Carabao Cup in midweek, although the 5-1 scoreline again highlights the ongoing issues that must be addressed by Lopetegui.

The new Hammers Head Coach though is set for a welcome boost this afternoon, with Niclas Fullkrug back in contention following his return to fitness from an ankle injury he sustained while on international duty with Germany.

Edson Alvarez misses out due to suspension, which leaves a headache in the midfield for Lopetegui to overcome.

Christian Norgaard will have a late fitness test ahead of the game later, although Yoane Wissa is out with a long term ankle complaint.

Todays match kicks off at 3pm and is available to listen to on BBC Radio London.
