A West Ham legend has tipped a new signing to have a similar impact to that of Jarrod Bowen.
West Ham struck gold when they signed Jarrod Bowen from Hull for around £20 million. It’s a signing that signified the beginning of a new era which poetically hit it’s climax with a last gasp goal from Jarrod Bowen to win the Hammers the Conference League.
While the club have tried to get a similar impact with signings like Said Benrahma from the Championship, their efforts have been fruitless so far.
However, with the signing of Crysencio Summerville, they may have just found their next star from the second tier of English football, club legend Frank McAvennie claims. “I think he’s been bright, always looking to get at his opponent,” he told West Ham Zone. “The more he plays, the better. Jarrod Bowen came from Hull City, and it took him a few games but David Moyes believed in him.”
“That’s what is going to happen with this guy. He’s another young, exciting kid, who has no fears. I like that. He goes to get the ball and he doesn’t care about who they’re playing. He just hasn’t had much help recently.”
His game time so far may have been limited, but he’s impressed massively. With West Ham struggling for goals at the minute, it could only be a matter of time before one of those attacking players gets dropped for a run of games, opening up the perfect opportunity for Summerville to cement his name in the starting XI.
