Mark Noble has expressed his determination in seeing Ollie Scarles becoming a success at West Ham.
The Academy star has had his contract extension officially confirmed by the club, following the news being broken exclusively by ExWHUEmployee previously, and the player told the clubs Official Website that he’s hungry to continue his journey towards the 1st team.
“I know the Club inside out. It’s the best thing that’s happened to me,” said Scarles. “I’ve had some great memories so far, winning the FA Youth Cup with the boys, making my debut for the first team in the Conference League, so I’m hoping to build on those memories and progress at this Club even further.”
Scarles also expressed his gratitude towards Noble who was instrumental in the player putting pen to paper on the new deal, with the former captain a clear go-to for the Academy players at the club.
“Nobes has been brilliant,” added Scarles. “I’ve always been able to text him when I needed some guidance. He’s always been around for all of the boys to talk to. He’s had a massive impact on my career. He’s always believed in me and I can’t give him enough credit for that.”
Noble himself admitted he has very high hopes for the young left-back, with a path emerging for Scarles to be the successor of Aaron Cresswell.
“He’s got high aspirations himself, which is exactly what we want from our young players,” said Noble. “We have high hopes for him too. He’s still only 18, so patience is key. I hope this is the one of many contracts we do for him.”
