West Ham captain Jarrod Bowen is fully focused on our next game which is against rivals Spurs.
Off the back of a morale and confidence boosting win over Ipswich at the weekend, for which West Ham triumphed 4-1, our Hammers face a Spurs side next who just threw away a 2-0 lead at Brighton and left empty handed.
The trip to north London will prove a stern test for Julen Lopetegui’s side, with Bowen also now ready to focus on that match and not let the England omission effect him.
“I never need any extra motivation to perform, and the England news was just one of those things, but you either let these things eat you up or you go and show what you’re about,” Bowen told the clubs Official Website. “My mindset has always been the same, and for the Club as well, we’ve been in a bit of a difficult situation, but to a man we’ve gone out there and got the job done.”
West Ham’s win over the Tractor Boys has lifted the mood in east London and although its now the international break, Bowen says Spurs are now in the crosshairs as we look to build on the positive result and performance.
“You don’t want to be on the end of a defeat going into an international break, and thankfully those that are going away now will be going away happy,” added Bowen.
“For us sticking around, we’ll keep going at the training ground ready for what will be a big game against Tottenham. Hopefully we can avoid injuries on all fronts, and kick on from this performance going forward.”
