West Ham boss Julen Lopetegui has the perfect opportunity to work with his players ahead of our trip to north London next weekend.

The victory over Ipswich on Saturday has certainly lifted the mood and belief at the club that a corner is being turned, and the fixture against a wounded Spurs team could prove to be the perfect catalyst to get the season firmly on track.

Spurs threw away a 2-0 lead to lose 3-2 at Brighton on Sunday, which has undoubtedly piled pressure again on Ange Postecoglou – which could set the perfect stage for West Ham to inflict more pain on our rivals whilst giving confidence levels in east London another major lift.

Although its currently the international break, Julen Lopetegui has plenty of players left to work with at Rush Green – including Jean-Clair Todibo, Jarrod Bowen, Mohammed Kudus and Crysencio Summerville.

This provides the club the perfect opportunity to work hard not just on fitness levels, but to further develop the new playing style and approach under the former Spain manager.

Should West Ham take full advantage and produce another excellent display when we face Spurs next weekend, then the campaign to reach European football again would be well and truly on.
