West Ham have not learnt from their mistakes as they look to sign yet another baffling striker.

The definition of insanity, according to Albert Einstein, “is doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results”. If that’s the case then West Ham are well and truly off the rails.

After signing Gianluca Scamacca and Sebastian Haller and seeing that they did not suit the club, you’d expect Tim Steidten to have learnt from his predecessor’s mistakes yet, for some reason, he decided to sign another big striker who had no signs of fitting in.

While it’s still too early to fully judge, Niclas Fullkrug’s injury has been enough to suggest that Hammers should have perhaps gone with a different option.

Thankfully, it’s reported that the recruitment team are hard at work trying to find an alternative. Frustratingly though, if reports from Fichajes are to be believed, they seem to be incapable of learning.

The report claims that the Hammers are still keen on signing Alexander Sorloth. The Norwegian has had one good season in Europe’s top 5 leagues, which was enough for him to secure a move to Atletico Madrid. However, he’s scored just 1 goal in 11 games, suggesting the previous campaign was likely a one off.

In every sense, he’s someone our Irons should be avoiding at all costs. Signing a 6’4 28-year-old is absolutely foolish given the previously mentioned players that have failed to impress in claret and blue, so why would they even consider it?
