It was a quiet night for the International Hammers as Vladimir Coufal, Tomas Soucek, Michail Antonio and Kaelan Casey represented their countries.

Both Soucek and Coufal started as they faced Ukraine at the Wroclaw Stadium in Poland. The Nations League B Group 1 fixture ended in a 1-1 draw with both Hammers completing the full 90 minutes. The point kept the Czechs a point clear of Georgia and Albania at the top of their four-team table. Ukraine have four points from four matches.

Lukáš Červ of Viktoria Plzeň fired Czech Republic in front after 18 minutes with a right-foot shot into the bottom left-hand corner after Ukraine failed to clear a corner, they went into half-time 1-0 up. Tomas Soucek, who has been in fine form for West Ham in recent matches almost doubled his sides lead with a header that went just wide two minutes into the second period.

Three minutes later, Ukraine levelled up the tie. Girona central defender Ladislav Krejcí handled the ball in his own penalty area and the referee pointed to the spot. Former Girona and current Roma striker Artem Dovbyk stepped up and placed the penalty into the bottom corner past Matej Kovar.

Coufal came close to registering his second assist of the International break as Sigma Olomouc striker Jan Kliment took his pass and forced a save from Ukraine goalkeeper Anatoliy Trubin. Both teams had chances towards the end of the match but neither were able to find a winner.

Kaelan Casey was a 74th minute substitute for England’s Elite League Squad which is managed by former West Ham coach Paul Nevin. The young three lions cruised to a 3-0 victory over the Czech Republic. Max Dean of K.A.A Gent scored a brace and Norwich attacker Kaide Gordon added a third to seal three points at the Ec0-Power Stadium in Doncaster.

In his fifth cap for the side, Kaelan Casey helped Paul Nevin’s team see out the victory and keep a clean sheet to earn all three points. As usual, Alphonse Areola was an unused substitute for France as they defeated Belgium away from home in the Nations League. Michail Antonio started up front for Jamaica in a 0-0 draw against Honduras in Kingston.

Lucas Paqueta won’t be in action for Brazil against Peru tonight as he received his third yellow card of their CONMEBOL World Cup Qualifying campaign in the 2-1 win over Chile on Friday.
